This week we took delivery of the cross we commissioned for our new chapel. The chapel is a space for local young people to reflect, pray and be quiet, and the cross is the focus of the room. It's made from 50 words describing the lives of local teenagers - we asked a very wide group to try and sum up their life and experience in a single word or phrase. These have been cut from sheet metal and twisted to form the cross. The effect is stunning and makes the whole chapel feel and look awesome. ArcAngel, the local company who made it have done a fab job. The metaphor we're trying to communicate is the sense of Christ dwelling and be present among teenagers in the good and painful parts of their lives.
